Application guide Kompar-S.

1. Purpose and Range of Application

1.1. Casted silicone material Kompar-S (technical specifications 2243-015-00482134-2001) is used to get high-precision solid copies (replicas) of the surfaces of glass, metal and other articles compatible with it for the following instrumental control and visual inspection of the roughness with the help of a copy (including a copy of a thread) instead of an article.

1.2. Linear dimensions of an imprint vary no more than on 0,2 % concerning an article.

1.3. The range of application of Kompar-S is control of geometrical parameters of articles in precise metal working, a machine industry, aircraft, manufacture of industrial equipment, and also on-stream and repair of ambulances and dodges. The material allows to peel imprints from a controlled surface under different angles in relation to horizon. The material ensures control places where there is no access to effect of inspecting devices.

2. Properties

2.1. Kompar-S is a composite material of chemical hardening. It is made of the mixture of low-volative diacrylates with inorganic filling material. The set consists of two pastes (catalyst - accelerate paste A, basic - peroxide paste B) of different colours. The pastes are polymerized (hardened) after their mixing up in the ratio of one to one.

2.2. Kompar-S does not irritate the skin, it is not toxic.

2.3. Polymerization of mixture of pastes runs without heat evolution.

2.4. In the case of the ingress of pastes or mixture on the skin one should wash the skin with water and soap and dry it with the help of a towel or rags.

3. Directions for use.

3.1. Preparation of a surface:
The surface should be cleaned from mud and dust and should be degreased with the help of non-ethylated benzine, white spirit, ethyl alcohol or their mixtures.

3.2. Preparation of the material.
Open jars with pastes, take three spatulas, modelling mass, glass plate and backing.
One has to mark the surface from which an imprint will be taken with modelling mass. Put equal quantity of each paste (without mixing) on the backing with the help of spatulas. Mix the pastes with the third spatula to get a homogeneous mass. One has to avoid the air ingress in the mass. The mixing up of the pastes takes about 30 sec.
ATTENTION! One should take each paste and mix them up with individual spatulas to avoid self-polymerization. After the work spatulas should be thoroughly cleaned from the material.

3.3. Getting a copy:
In 1 minute after mixing put the material on controlled surface. With spatula press it by glass lamina until the complete infill of an inspected lease. In 6 minutes to remove a glass lamina together with an imprint.
At removal of an imprint from a thread it is expedient to make a metal tube expander of the rectangular shape with two base surfaces or holes for installation of a tube expander in center of a toolhouse (universal) microscope. A tube expander to place(install) on a thread, using a glass spreading rod to locate a material in a tube expander before the complete infill of an inspected lease.

3.4. Obtained imprint or the tube expander with an imprint mounted on a gear for monitoring of indispensable parameters.

4. Storage

Kompar-S in the original package it should be stored(kept) at normal temperature not less than 3th years.

Opened package of Kompar-S should be kept at a room temperature in a location protected from effect of an atmospheric precipitation, forward(straight) solar rays and open radiants of fire.
